Questions and answers – we’ve got plenty of both! Even with a Help page with questions and answers galore, there are a few we get quite often. And we’d like to give them a little room to breathe here.
Why didn’t I earn commission on an order?
First, it’s important to note here that we have two different kinds of commissions: a Design Commission and a Shop-Product Commission. You can set a Design Commission on all of your designs, whether they are used on the Marketplace, in your shop or in other Shop Partners’ shops. The Shop-Product Commission is a commission that you can set specifically on any product that is in your shop(s), like birthday t-shirts or custom polos.
Often we get this question from partners who have only set a Shop-Product Commission and are confused when the design is sold on the Marketplace (with out a Design Commission set). In these cases, I would recommend setting a Design Commission of $2-$3 and lowering the Shop-Product Commission respectively to come out at your desired price in the shop. This way, you earn both ways! Find out even more about earning money with Spreadshirt.
I have earned x amount in commissions, why hasn’t it been paid out?
We payout commissions after the end of each calendar quarter. The payout process begins 14 days after the end of the quarter: so that means mid-April, mid-July, mid-October and mid-January. On the 18th of the month, PayPal and Direct Deposit transactions are carried out. Depending on the bank, weekends, holidays etc., it may take several days for the transfer to appear in your account.
Commission credits over $100 and older than 14 days can be paid out at any time upon request but no more than once each calender month. Find all details about payouts in this informative FAQ article.
Why can’t I place my design on the polos, bags, etc.?
There are two possible reasons why a design cannot be printed on polos, bags etc. Most often it is because this product does not support Digital Direct printing. Due to quality issues, not all products can be printed with Digital Direct – we have a list of all products approved for Digital Direct printing.
Another possible reason for this issue is that the vector design cannot be scaled down enough to fit in the printing area of the product. Vectors with thin lines can only be scaled down to a certain size (if at all). This is to prevent quality issues related to thin prints which can break during printing or washing. Be sure to pay attention to the design size, scalability and product’s printing area.
